Serious fashionistas and the who’s who in the fashion and design industry around the world would be descending into Copenhagen by now for the first salvo of Fashion Week 2013. Taking place on January 30 to February 3, the Copenhagen Fashion Week is among the largest and most highly-anticipated events in the Nordic Region where over 60,000 visitors come to celebrate the best of Danish and international fashion and design talents.

For one week, the city is abuzz with over 170 activities that showcase collections from over 1,100 exhibitors along with the best of Copenhagen as among the world’s elite fashion meccas. There are trade fairs, discussions, competitions, parties, concerts and fashion shows where a select few will even be televised on Fashion TV.

Aside from fashion trends, the latest developments in make-up, jewelry and other facets of design will also be showcased during the Fashion Week. Well-known brands and designers will be taking part in the Winter edition of the Copenhagen Fashion Week such as Boss, Adidas Originals, Baum und Pfendgarten, ECCO, Malene Birger, CIFF Kids, Ivan Grundahl, Peter Jensen and many more.

The main fashion events will be staged at the Ceremonial Hall of the City Hall of Copenhagen while giant projection screens will be installed along the popular squares of Gammeltorv/Nytorv and Hojbro Plads for those who want to watch the shows. Started in 2008, the Copenhagen Fashion Week happens twice a year and is a major tourist event for the capital city of Denmark. The next one will take place in August.
