Copenhagen Marathon

Many people nowadays are into staying fit as a  fiddle so why not join the Copenhagen Marathon?  This is an annual road running event including races over the marathon, half marathon and 10 kilometer distances.  This takes place on the streets of Copenhagen, Denmark.   

This was established in 1980 and is held in May.  There are, more or less, 10,000 participants.

Runners can go 3 times round the loop that passes through Copenhagen’s center.  Islands Brydgge is where it all starts and ends.  They can follow a route from there to the center of the city.

It is a popular race because the excellent organization and great scenery make it an unforgettable experience for runners.  They can pass by the beautiful Little Mermaid, the Royal Palace and the Parliament building and enjoy Copenhagen’s most attractive sites along the way.

Not only will they be able to exercise, but they can also have fun sightseeing.  Also, There will also be bands and other forms of entertainments to entertain both runners and spectators.  Not everyone can run in a marathon so those who come to watch can just sit back, relax and enjoy the moment.

What is more is that this marathon is for a good cause.  Runners are advised to contact their chosen charity.  They can help raise funds for good causes such as Genetic Disorders UK, Cancer Research UK, and Leukaemia CARE.

May is before the tourist season so it won’t be difficult to find hotels in Copenhagen.
