Make no mistake – Denmark is littered with bars, clubs and entertainment venues that locals and visitors are spoilt for choice. But if you are looking for that ultimate live music experience and want to know where the hottest music acts go to perform, check out this quick guide to the hottest live music stages in the country:

Vega, House of Music. Regarded as one of Denmark’s leading music venues, Vega in the Vesterbro area hosts over 250 concerts a year. It has two stages – the bigger one accommodates a standing capacity of 1500 while the smaller one with a 500-pax standing capacity is meant for more intimate performances.

Parken Stadium. The National Stadium of Denmark is home to the football club FC Copenhagen but it is also the stage for some of the biggest media events held in Denmark. Some of the big international artists who have come to perform here include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears, U2, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton.

Copenhagen Opera House. Located in Holmen in Copenhagen, the modern and lavish Operaen has six stages – a main one with five smaller stages. Although the building itself is composed of 15 floors and has more than 1000 rooms, it only provides for 1500 seats to preserve the high quality of acoustics in the Opera.

Jazzhus Montmartre. It’s not as big as the other concert venues but the Jazzhus Montmartre in Store Regnegade in Copenhagen is one of Europe’s most prestigious jazz clubs. Jazz hotshots like Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Kenny Drew and a lot more have come to perform here. It has also hosted the annual
Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
