Ice Skating for Free at Valby

Ice skating is a sport for all ages.  Since there are indoor ice arenas all over the world, it can be enjoyed year-round.  It is also a winter sport.  Recreational ice skating burns more that 250 calories per hour.

So, you are into ice skating and staying healthy, you would surely enjoy ice skating in Denmark.  The best part is that it is for free.

The new free ice skating rink has moved to Valby at Toftegårds Plads.  You can skate free of charge on ice on the 1500 m2 big skating rink.  You can skate to your heart’s content with your friends and family.    

If you don’t have any skates on hand, have no fear.  You can rent skates for they have them for all ages and sizes.

Rental skates are good if you just want to try ice skating but for those who are serious about learning figure skating, it would be better to buy good boots and blades than to rent.  Warm clothes, mittens and gloves are necessary.  Helmets are recommended for beginning skaters.

Ice skating is considered a winter sport.  Beginning skaters should practice at least once a week but advanced figure skaters need to practice every day.

This ice skating rink was opened on November 27, 2014.  They open from Mondays to Sundays.  This is located at Toftegårds Plads 1  2500 Valby.  This is an activity you will surely enjoy!

 

The traditional skating rink at Kongens Nytorv is closed until 2018 due to some renovations.
