What is Copenhagen’s Night of Culture?

Explore Copenhagen’s cultural attractions at night – join the Copenhagen Night of Culture. This major event that happens each year in mid October gives people a great opportunity to visit places some of which are not normally open to the public. More than 75,000 visitors gather in the city to explore various sites. For only one night, some 500 events at 250 different places in the Danish capital will welcome visitors of all ages from all over the world. These include museums, churches, galleries, political institutions and other places of interest.

This year, more than 50 new venues will be participating. Focus will be on light, sound and cross cultural themes to showcase Copenhagen’s rich cultural landscape. Those planning to go the city can expect to see unique display of lights and great sound at many public places. There will be bands and choirs some of whom will be singing acapella.

During this particular night, visitors need not pay entrance fees in order to see some of their favorite tourist attractions. All you have to do is secure the Night of Culture pass to enjoy free admission to certain venues. Remember this is only for one night, October 15th, starting at 6 p.m. until 12 midnight so be ready to explore Copenhagen’s cultural life.
